“[Healing justice is] a framework that identifies how we can holistically respond to and intervene on generational trauma and violence and to bring collective practices that can impact and transform the consequences of oppression on our bodies, hearts and minds.” -- Cara Page, Black queer artist, organizer, and healing arts practitioner in the South.

The Women of Color Healing Gathering was inspired by a collective gathering held every solstice and equinox in Brooklyn, NY hosted by Harriet’s Apothecary. The purpose of this gathering here in Gainesville, FL is to provide an opportunity for women healers and therapeutic arts specialists living locally and surrounding areas of Florida to assemble together to share our gifts and services. The purpose of inviting women of color is to create a safe space where we can discuss sacred and sensitive conditions that affect us as a community. As well as strategize on creating projects to support social justice activists and community workers with self-help.

These healing practices can range from massage therapy, reiki, sacred adornment, herbs, dance, yoga and chakra balancing. These are just a few of the many practices that we possess and others have not been exposed to yet to facilitate and sustain our continual journey of healing justice.

Women of Color healers and practitioners of various therapeutic and healing practices are invited to participate in this event. We are asking your support in making this happen. We would like you to consider sponsoring this project. You are open to share your services and products at this event and be included on our marketing collateral as a sponsor. Our intention is to make this event affordable to interested Women of Color and with your support we can make this a successful event.

This event is a safe and open space for LGBTQ Women of Color.
